Additive Technologies in Trauma and Orthopedics

Back to the program 22 June 12:30 — 14:00 Conference hall №3

In 2022, the 3D printing industry celebrated its tenth anniversary as an additive manufacturing tool. The healthcare industry occupies a major part of the global market for additive technology. 3D technology has significant advantages – from high accuracy to shorter production time and lower labor and material costs. The trend towards the use of additive technologies is particularly visible in traumatology and orthopedics, and more and more manufacturers in the Russian market start “printing” prostheses, implants, etc. The new realities also increase the demand for domestic materials used in 3D printing. Are manufacturers ready to cover the existing demand? What are the pros and cons of additive technologies, as seen by the scientific community?

Issues to be discussed:

1.              Issues with the circulation of custom printed implants and prostheses

2.              Problems of import substitution of materials used in 3D printing

3.              Domestic solutions in the medical 3D printer market

4.              Experience with 3D printed products
